| Pork Knuckle |
German pork knuckle is crispy on the outside, and extremely tender and juicy. The knuckle is marbled with meat, and it is braised for a long time for even better flavours. Usually, the Germans have a light beer with this dish to balance out the meal.
To start off their meal, Germans consume salads dressed in various vinaigrettes. Unlike the ones that are served in most western cuisine stalls today, the dressings are not necessarily creamy. They are usually sour with either lime or lemon juice. A properly flavoured salad will not give you a feel that you are eating raw vegetables. Salads are meant to be refreshing, so much so that even the children enjoy eating it.
Desserts
Germans love ice-creams too, so much so that they even have an cool ice-cream machines on the streets.
